Structured Dialogue with Young People.
STDYP is a project funded by the Erasmus+ Programme –Dialogue between young people and policy makers
STDYP is a project selected by the Swedish National Agency.
STDYP starts on 1st of Augusta 2016 and ends on 1st of October 2017
This project examines participation among youth immigrants in Sweden, and their difficulties in accessing to the structured dialogue with decision makers in Sweden.
STDYP is a project focused on two main topics: migrants’ issues and EU Citizenship, EU awareness and Democracy.
The Group of participants in the project are youth immigrants background came from different regions such, STOCKHOLM, GOTEBORG, MALMÖ, ÖREBRO, ESKILSTUNA, BORLÄNGE, GÄVLE, VÄSTERÅS, UPPSALA and LINKÖPING. These participants are largely coming from families with scarce economic resources, and at risk of social exclusion.
However, the project is also aimed at the participation of young people who are not included in this group, but they represent the reality and diversity in the region.
According to Statistics Sweden Labour Force Survey, the number of youth unemployment remains high. It reached a peak of around 19.60% in January 2016.
STDYP project will involve a universe of 300 young people, involving some others youth groups and youth organizations, including organizations that work with immigrants young people and community that need special intervention in terms of social-economic risk, school leavers, unemployment and marginalization of young community. It also aims to the participation of 42 local community youth leaders and associative leaders linked to youth associations and the associations that develop work with the immigrant community and descendants of immigrants
The project focuses above all on youth immigrants and descendants of immigrants, mainly with Swedish citizenship and some without citizenship yet with few opportunities from 18 to 30 years old, coming from the families that are facing social and economical problems at local levels from different regions of Sweden and at same time giving crucial contributions to the structured dialogue among immigrants and youth community.
These participants are willing to improve their organizational skills, social competences and their knowledge and attitudes in at national level with multicultural and intercultural groups and planning to organize great youth, counseling and advisory meetings on promotion of structured dialogue, social inclusion, intercultural dialogue, youth participation, active and democratic citizenship.
STDYP Project will be achieved in 3 stages:
1. PREPARATORY MOMENTS – Stockholm: August and September, 2016 In this preparatory phase will be done meetings for project presentation to new potential partners, meetings for formation of youth organizations and youth groups to define the working groups in different regions.
2. IMPLEMENTATION MOMENTS (September 2016 to August 2017): It will be achieved regionals seminars for consultations in STOCKHOLM, GOTEBORG, MALMÖ, ÖREBRO, ESKILSTUNA BORLÄNGE, GÄVLE, VÄSTERÅS, UPPSALA
3 – EVALUATION AND DISSEMINATION OF RESULTS (August and September 2017) During this phase we intend to disseminate the results of the large-scale project. Putting the agenda developed by young people with recommendations to improve the situation of young migrants and diaspora in Sweden in relation to employment and education high on the agenda. The conclusions will be organized in the form of a publication, which aims to help in the dissemination of the results.
STDYP project is completely linked to the process of Structured Dialogue European priorities and the level of participation of young people with fewer opportunities in the framework of the European year for development: our world, our dignity, our future-2016. An opportunity to raise the awareness of European citizens to the EU’s development policies and for its role as one of the main world agents in the fight against poverty – Decision No. 472/2014/EU of the EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT and of the Council of April 16, 2014.
