Momento Film

General information

Momento Film is an independent production company based in Stockholm, Sweden. We produce high-quality documentary films for cinema, TV and the Internet. With personal perspectives, strong narratives and visual styles, our films provoke thought and emotion, commenting on our time and the society of today.

We showcase a multitude of the most interesting voices of today, and among our filmmakers both etablished and upcoming directors– such as award winning Frida Kempff and new talents such as Theresa Traore Dahlberg and Michael Krotkiewski – are represented. Our movies are screened at major international festivals and forums, have been nominated to Prix Europe, and have won awards internationally, most recently at the Peabody Awards and an Honorary Mention for Best International Documentary at Duhok International Film Festival and at Nordisk Panorama.

Momento Film was founded in 2011 by directors and producers David Herdies and Zanyar Adami. Presently the company is owned by David Herdies, director and producer; and employs Kerstin Übelacker, producer, Simon Hansson, admin and coordination; and Mirjam Johansson, communication and development, together with several skilled freelancers. The company is cooperating with several international production companies and directors, as well as broadcasters and film institutes, such as ARTE, Nordisk Film & TV Fond, IKON, BBC and Al Jazeera, and is a member of the European Documentary Network and the Swedish Independent Filmmakers Association. We are regularly financed by the Swedish Film Institute, SFI, and the Swedish National Television, SVT.
